Fishing
WarpedRealm has its own fishing system with hundreds of custom fish. What you catch depends on the rod you're holding and the biome you fish in. Better rods reach more biomes and land rare fish more often.
You start with a basic rod and craft your way up the ladder at the Forge, using fish and materials you reel in along the way. Most fish are sold for money.
TIP
Custom rods only work over open water. Give your bobber a clear patch with no blocks or overhangs above it, the same as vanilla treasure fishing.
How custom fishing works
When you reel in, the rod you're holding and the biome you're standing in decide which pool of fish you catch from. Each pool has its own fish, weighted by rarity, so you'll pull Common fish constantly and Legendary fish rarely.
On top of the zone fish, every cast has a chance at:
- Trash — algae, old boots, bottles. Worth almost nothing.
- Generic fish — a small everyday pool that drops anywhere.
- Junk and vanilla treasure — the standard Minecraft fishing extras.
- Rare materials — Pearls, Hardened Steel, Hardened Leather and Mythical Copper Cores, used to craft the next rod.
- Treasures — rare, high-value finds like the Golden Axolotl and Warped Fishing Relic, on long cooldowns.
Some fish only bite at night, and a few only show up during storms, so the same spot gives different fish at different times.
Rod tiers
Each rod is crafted at the Forge (shift right-click a crafting table) from the rod below it plus fish and materials you caught with it. Higher tiers raise your rare-catch chance, carry stronger Lure and Luck of the Sea, and reach more biomes.
WARNING
Custom rods can't be repaired or mended, and they break eventually. That's intended, so keep crafting up the ladder instead of holding onto one rod.

The Starter Rod is crafted from a vanilla fishing rod, amethyst shards and a glow ink sac. Each rod after it is built from the one below. The Fisher's Rod takes your Starter Rod plus Lake and Ocean fish, and so on up to the Master Fisher's Rod at the top of the overworld chain.
There's also an Adventurer's Fishing Rod, a special-event reward rather than part of the craft ladder, that carries Lure 3 and a +25% rare-catch bonus.

Utopia has its own set of rods. They only work in Utopia and fish the Heavenly and Crystalline zones:

The other decorative rods you'll see (Iron, Golden, Coral, Amethyst, and so on) are cosmetic skins that fish exactly the same as a standard rod.
Sundered Isles rods
The Sundered Isles have their own rods, bought with Suns instead of crafted, from the Coralwood Rod up to the Golden Catch. They fish the island's own zone. See Fishing the Isles.
Which biome gives which fish
What you catch depends on the biome you cast in. The names in the right column are just labels for each pool. What counts is the biome:

Some biomes feed more than one pool. A deep cold ocean counts as Ocean, Deep Sea and Ice, and a higher-tier rod can pull from more of them.
Fish rarities
Every fish shows its rarity in its lore. Rarer fish are weighted lower, so Commons come up far more often than Mythicals. Rarity also tracks sell value: the rarest fish in a pool are worth many times the commons.
The rarity tiers, from most to least common:
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Super Rare
- Legendary
- Mythical
Bait
Bait items raise your odds of a particular catch while you hold the matching rod. Keep the bait in your inventory and it works automatically. You don't use it up. Bait types include:
- Rod-specific bait (Fisher's, Deep Sea, Aquatic Hunter's, Master Fisher's, and the Utopia rods) — raises the chance of that rod's special fish.
- Godlike Bait — boosts your chance at rare material drops.
- Treasure Bait and Vanilla Treasure Bait — improve treasure odds.
Most bait is crafted at the Forge from simple ingredients like earthworms and string.
Lava fishing
In the Nether you can fish in lava with the Scorched Fishing Rod. It works like water fishing: wait for a bite, then reel in. It pulls from the same Hell zone.
Selling your catch
Fish are food items you can eat in a pinch, but they're mainly for selling. Drop them in the sell menu and it pays out based on each fish's value.
Prices scale with zone and rarity. In most zones the ladder looks roughly like this:

Later zones pay more across the board. Deep Sea, Ice, Jungle and cave fish run from ~10 up to ~680, and Utopia's fish reach ~900. The rare Unique fish top out well over 1,000 each. Trash sells for almost nothing; fished-up treasures like the Golden Axolotl and Warped Fishing Relic are worth thousands.
TIP
The sell menu runs a rotating daily boost on certain item categories. If fish are boosted that day, it's a good time to clear out your stockpile.

- Jobs — joining the Fisher job pays you money every time you reel something in, on top of what you sell it for.
- Crafting materials — the Pearls, Hardened Steel, Hardened Leather and Mythical Copper Cores you fish up are ingredients for the next rod tier and other custom recipes.

Every fish you catch is logged in your Collections journal, opened with /journal. Filling out each zone pays bonus money and unlocks titles: finish a zone for its own title (like Reefkeeper), or complete the whole Fishing collection to become a Master Fisher.
