Fishing
Fishing on WarpedRealm is a full custom progression system. Instead of the handful of vanilla fish, every cast pulls from hundreds of unique fish spread across distinct biome zones. The rod you use decides which zones you can reach and how often you land rare catches, so better gear opens up better fishing.
You start with a basic rod and work your way up by catching fish, gathering materials, and crafting each next tier at the Forge. Most catches are sold for money, making fishing one of the most reliable money-making activities for a solo player.
TIP
Custom rods only work their magic over open water — give your bobber a clear patch with no blocks or overhangs nearby, exactly like vanilla treasure fishing.
How custom fishing works
When you reel in with a custom rod, the game looks at which rod you are holding and which biome you are fishing in, then routes your catch to the matching biome zone. Each zone has its own pool of fish, and within that pool fish are weighted by rarity — common fish come up constantly, while legendary fish are genuinely rare.
On top of zone fish, every cast has a chance at:
- Trash — algae, old boots, bottles and the like. Worth a few coins at best.
- Generic fish — a small everyday pool that drops anywhere.
- Junk and vanilla treasure — the standard Minecraft fishing extras.
- Rare material drops — Pearls, Hardened Steel, Hardened Leather and Mythical Copper Cores, which feed straight back into rod crafting.
- Treasures — very rare, high-value finds like the Golden Axolotl and Warped Fishing Relic (these are on long cooldowns).
Many fish also change with the time of day and weather — some species only bite at night, and a few only surface during storms. If a zone feels picked clean, try coming back at a different time.
Rod tiers
Rods follow a crafting ladder: each tier is made at the Forge (shift right-click a crafting table) using the previous rod plus fish and materials you gathered with it. Higher tiers add a bigger rare-catch bonus, stronger Lure/Luck of the Sea enchants, and access to more biome zones.
WARNING
Custom rods cannot be repaired or mended and will eventually break. This is intentional — keep crafting up the ladder rather than hoarding one rod forever.

The Starter Rod is your entry point and is crafted from a vanilla fishing rod, amethyst shards and a glow ink sac. From there each rod is built at the Forge from the rod below it. For example, the Fisher's Rod needs your Starter Rod plus Lake and Ocean fish, and the Master Fisher's Rod is the top of the overworld chain.
There is also an Adventurer's Fishing Rod (a special-event reward rather than part of the craft ladder) that carries Lure 3 and a +25% rare-catch bonus.

Utopia rods
Utopia has its own astral fishing line for players deep into progression. These rods only function in the Utopia world and route to the Heavenly and Crystalline zones:

The many other decorative fishing rods you may see (Iron, Golden, Coral, Amethyst, and so on) are cosmetic skins — they reskin your rod but route through the standard fishing tables.
Sundered Isles rods
The Sundered Isles — the summer island getaway — have their own fishing line, bought with Suns rather than crafted, from the starter Coralwood Rod up to The Golden Catch. They fish the island's own 24-species zone. See Fishing the Isles.
Which biome gives which fish
Your catch is decided by the biome you cast in — each biome has its own pool of themed fish. The pool names in the right column are just shorthand; what matters is the biome you're standing in:

Some biomes feed more than one pool — a deep cold ocean counts as Ocean, Deep Sea and Ice depending on your rod — and the higher-tier your rod, the more of those pools it can actually pull from.
Fish rarities
Every fish lists its rarity in its lore. Within a zone, rarer fish are weighted lower, so you will see far more Common fish than Mythical ones. Rarity also tracks closely with sell value — the rarest fish in a zone are worth dozens of times more than the commons.
The rarity tiers, from most to least common:

Bait
Special bait items boost your odds of landing a particular kind of catch while you hold the right rod. Keep the matching bait in your inventory and it works automatically — you do not consume it manually. Bait types include:
- Rod-specific bait (Fisher's, Deep Sea, Aquatic Hunter's, Master Fisher's, and the Utopia rods) — raises the chance of that rod's special fish.
- Godlike Bait — boosts your chance at rare material drops.
- Treasure Bait and Vanilla Treasure Bait — improve treasure odds.
Most bait is crafted at the Forge from simple ingredients like earthworms and string.
Lava fishing
In the Nether you can fish directly in lava with the Scorched Fishing Rod. It works just like water fishing — wait for a bite, then reel in — and pulls from the same fiery Hell zone.
Selling your catch
Fish are food items (you can eat them in a pinch), but their real purpose is money. The main way to cash in is the sell menu: drop your fish in, and it pays out based on each fish's value.
Prices scale by zone and rarity. Within most zones the value ladder looks roughly like this:

Later zones pay more across the board — Deep Sea, Ice, Jungle and cave fish run from ~10 up to ~680, Utopia's astral fish climb to ~900, and the ultra-rare Unique fish are the most valuable of all, topping out at well over 1,000 each. Trash sells for almost nothing, while fished-up treasures (Golden Axolotl, Warped Fishing Relic and similar) are worth thousands.
TIP
The sell menu runs rotating daily boost events that temporarily raise prices on certain item categories. If fish are boosted that day, it is a great time to clear out your stockpile.

- Jobs — joining the Fisher job earns you passive money every time you reel something in, on top of whatever you sell it for.
- Crafting materials — the Pearls, Hardened Steel, Hardened Leather and Mythical Copper Cores you fish up are key ingredients for the next rod tier and other custom recipes.

Every fish you catch is logged in your Collections codex. Filling out each zone pays bonus money and unlocks prestige titles — finish a zone for its own title (like Reefkeeper), or the whole Fishing collection to become a Master Fisher.
